Visual Inspection
Prior to any testing a visual inspection of each appliance shall be carried out which will include:
Checking socket outlets for any cracks or overheating, making sure there's no splits or fraying to the flex.
Checking each plug is free from damage and ensuring all wiring is configured correctly inside the plug and connections are secure.
Making sure the plug conforms to British standard 1363 with properly insulated pins and contains a correctly rated British standard 1362 fuse.
Perform a function check to see if the appliance works, is free from damage and can be used safely.
Testing
All electrical equipment will be allocated a test label which will include:
Unique asset number for each appliance/equipment.
Location in which the appliance/equipment is kept or used.
Description of appliance/equipment.
Date of test and identity of test engineer.
Pass or Fail status.
All labels will show an appliance number, test date, test engineer & our company details.
Microwave test labels will show emission level, interlock check, test date, retest due date, test engineer, appliance number, fuse rating & our company details.
Upon completion of testing and the receipt of full payment for our services, a full itemised test report and certificate will be issued.
This will list all appliances tested and the results of the tests carried out, appliance locations and details of any failures or remedial repairs carried out.
The engineer will also report any observations of unsafe practices found on site.
